Dr. Usama Bukhari is an Internal Medicine physician, hospitalist, and physician-educator with more than 7 years of experience in hospital medicine. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois and practices as a full-time hospitalist and core faculty member in an Internal Medicine residency program in Chicago.

Dr. Bukhari has dedicated his career to teaching practical inpatient medicine to medical students, residents, advanced practice providers, and practicing clinicians. After completing medical school, he pursued research opportunities at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University, then completed his Internal Medicine residency at the CMEF program in Ohio, where he graduated with distinction as Resident of the Year.

As the founder of Differential Diagnosis, Dr. Bukhari has built an educational platform used by thousands of learners in the United States and internationally. His teaching focuses on simplifying complex medical topics into clear, practical, high-yield approaches that clinicians can apply at the bedside. His inpatient medicine and hospitalist-focused educational resources are widely used by Internal Medicine residents, Family Medicine residents, medical students, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and early-career hospitalists.

This Hospitalist CME conference reflects Dr. Bukhari’s commitment to clinically relevant, case-based education for front-line inpatient clinicians. The program is designed for Internal Medicine and Family Medicine hospitalists, as well as APPs and trainees who manage acutely ill hospitalized patients. Topics emphasize common and high-risk inpatient problems, including sepsis, respiratory failure, pneumonia, AKI, electrolyte emergencies, chest pain, heart failure, stroke, GI bleeding, cirrhosis, DKA, anticoagulation, and other conditions frequently encountered on hospital medicine services.

Dr. Bukhari’s goal is to provide CME that is practical, efficient, and immediately useful — helping clinicians improve diagnostic reasoning, inpatient management, patient safety, and confidence during real hospital shifts.

Dr. Jamil Yasin, MD is an experienced hospitalist physician with a strong clinical background in inpatient and acute care medicine, evidence-based practice, and multidisciplinary team collaboration. He currently serves as a Hospitalist at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon, Illinois, where he provides comprehensive inpatient care, leads daily rounds, coordinates treatment plans with specialists and nursing teams, and supports continuity of care for hospitalized patients.

Dr. Yasin has also served as a Hospitalist in other Hospitals in Illinois, where his work included delivering high-quality inpatient care, supporting care transitions, helping reduce hospital readmissions, and participating in hospital quality improvement initiatives. His clinical interests include acute patient management, interdisciplinary communication, patient safety, and improving outcomes through evidence-based hospital medicine.

Dr. Yasin completed his Residency Training at VCU/Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. With his extensive hospitalist experience and commitment to quality inpatient care, Dr. Yasin brings valuable practical expertise to continuing medical education for hospital medicine clinicians.

Dr. Shehreen Jewan is a board-certified internal medicine physician and experienced hospitalist with a strong clinical background in adult inpatient medicine, acute care decision-making, and evidence-based management of complex hospitalized patients. She currently serves as a hospitalist at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton, Ohio, where her practice focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, coordination, and safe transition of care for hospitalized adults.

Dr. Jewan completed her internal medicine internship and residency at Canton Medical Education Foundation/NEOMED in Canton, Ohio, and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She holds active physician licensure in Ohio and New York. Her prior hospital medicine experience includes service as a hospitalist at Aultman Hospital, along with additional clinical and research experience in rheumatology, cardiology, adolescent medicine, psychiatry, neonatology, and community medicine.

Dr. Jewan brings the practical insight of a frontline hospitalist who regularly manages high-acuity inpatient conditions, interdisciplinary care coordination, discharge planning, diagnostic uncertainty, and guideline-based treatment decisions. Her clinical experience positions her to develop and review CME content that is directly relevant to hospital-based physicians, advanced practice providers, and healthcare teams caring for medically complex patients.

As CME faculty and reviewer, Dr. Jewan is well suited to evaluate educational activities for clinical accuracy, scientific balance, patient-care relevance, and applicability to real-world hospital medicine practice. Her expertise supports CME programming focused on improving inpatient quality of care, reducing practice gaps, strengthening evidence-based decision-making, and promoting meaningful outcomes for hospitalized patients.
